Hi everyone, join Alec and me as we prospect for GOLD in the Arizona desert.
Thanks for visiting the site. I hope to share my desert adventures with everyone with the goal of getting folks motivated and moving past dreaming and moving towards DOING. I have been chasing my dreams since my teenage years and found the real pot of gold is the experiences we acquire in life that makes us rich.
This is my 3rd year of making prospecting videos. I started with a $150 video recorder and have begun to invest in better equipment and to use a better editing program.
My intention is to write details of our trips to compliment the videos. I ask everyone to please send me comments so I know how I'm doing.
In a nutshell, I was born in New York City and stayed in trouble until I left at 17 years old. Hitched hiked up and down the East Coast living in missions and working in Labor Pools. Wound up, eventually, in New Orleans and picked up work on offshore drilling rigs washing pots and pans. Worked my way up to Camp Boss and wound up travelling around the world picking this rig up in Mexico or dropping that rig off in Angola, Africa. I even worked a while on the Transocean Horizon before it blew up.
In the mid 80's I moved back to New York and worked as the Head Chef of a small café on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
After a couple of years there, the travelling bug hit me hard and I moved back to New Orleans and jumped back offshore until 1989 when they had a rig headed to Aberdeen, Scotland to be refitted to work in the North Sea. the rig was called the Sedco 702. When it got to Scotland my crew and I were put on a train to London and dropped off at Gatwick Airport to fly back home. Everyone boarded the plane except for me. I headed to Paris and joined the French Foreign Legion. It was the best part of my life. Living in Southern France, had missions in the Central African Republic and Cambodia, where I fell in love with the Orient.
I spent the next 10 years in Thailand, got married to a Thai girl who gave me my only son, Alec, who you see in the videos. He was born in Akron, OH and spent the first 2 years of his life in Nigeria where I was working. His mom and he bounced between Asia, North America, and Africa so he is a well traveled little guy. He is 12 yrs old as of this writing and has been training Martial Arts since he was 5.
His mother and I split up and I raised him by myself which put an end to my adventures until the Gold Bug bit me. I now have a venue to keep that adventurer spirit alive and even share it with my son.
So now you know what motivates me and hopefully gives you some insight while watching me stumble through a video.
Thank you ALL for your interest and please, let's stay in touch.
